NEMF 2025: Women in Mycology

 Ithaca, NY |  September 18-21, 2025

Join us for NEMF 2025, a special gathering in Ithaca, NY, celebrating the theme Women in Mycology. This year’s foray will explore the rich fungal diversity of the Finger Lakes region while honoring the contributions of women in the field. We’ll also highlight the intersection of mycology and entomology, inspired by the legacy of Samuel Ristich.

Our event will be hosted at Camp Comstock, a quaint Girl Scout camp on the shores of Cayuga Lake. With nearly two miles of waterfront, nearby scenic hiking trails, and a unique treetop cabin village, the location offers a rustic getaway in Tompkins County, NY.

What to Expect:

Forays – Contribute to scientific diversity surveys while discovering fungi in diverse habitats, from lush forests to waterfalls.
Engaging Presentations – Learn from leading mycologists and fungal enthusiasts.
Hands-On Experiences – Participate in interactive workshops. Keep an eye out for arts-and-crafts, we will be at camp after all.
Outdoor Adventures – In addition to hiking in search of mushrooms, enjoy swimming, kayaking, and exploring the unique ecology of the region, especially the waterfalls!
Community – Connect with fellow fungi lovers over campfires, spore prints, and great food.
